“Formy w dialogu” (Forms in dialogue) took place at the studio of Prze—Świt, a collective cultural institution in Warsaw. For one day, five artists, Lewandowski, Oksiński, Stępień, Szymkiewicz and Wydacka, painted a single still life together.
First we arranged a still life from all kinds of objects. Then each of us was given a fragment of the composition and spent the whole day painting it in our own style. Put together, the separate paintings formed one shared still life.
It was an experience that took me out of my comfort zone. My painting lives on strong expression and intense colour, so meeting completely different ways of painting was not always easy. My fragment had to talk to works by people who speak a very different painterly language.
The result was stunning. In the photo: the fragment of the still life that I painted.
